Assad Cafe – real Indian cooking in Manila at reasonable prices

The Assad Cafe offers home-cooked Indian cuisine  in Manila at exceptionally reasonable prices.  The ambiance is basic.  It’s not a place to take your girlfriend (boyfriend) to impress her — unless she really cares about good food at good prices.  If she like Assad, I suggest you marry her! The food is freshly cooked (meaning you have to wait for it to be cooked) and quite good.  The prices are very modest.  See menus below.  We had Paneer Matar for P134 and Mutton Quorma (with rice or chapati) for P177.  This is much less than you’ll pay at more upscale places.  The location is on UN Ave, not far east of the UN Avenue LRT Station. Phone 02-526-1349 or 02-526-5034.  The small shopping area where the Assad Cafe is located also hosts the wonderful Assad Mini-Market South Asian food store.  If travelling by taxi, just tell the driver Assad’s is on U.N. Avenue across from the big Unilever plant. Address: 1268-D Midtown Executive Homes, U.N. Ave.Paco, Manila, (02) 404-0319.  “Midtown Executive Homes” is really a small strip mall along U.N. Avenue.  Open for lunch and dinner.
